Moving in the Mountains Series (ongoing)

As I painted The Mountains That Move Us series, I kept asking myself, "Why do thousands of people go to the mountains every day?" Mountains are extremely beautiful to look at, but people also go there to do much more. So many go to the mountains to enjoy doing their favorite activities. But, why do they go there to do the activity?

  • It's an escape from the busy, congested cities, enabling you to exist in peaceful, open environments.
  • By being present in nature and listening to the serene sounds around you, built up stress and depression starts to decrease.
  • It's an opportunity to exercise in the fresh, clean air.
  • Some activities can only be done in the mountains, so it can be to challenge yourself to go further, faster, or higher than your personal best.
  • It can also be for the fun and emotional bonds of companionship, as most activities are done with family and friends.

Whatever the reasons, people become very emotionally connected to nature and the mountains, and can't wait to get back there to enjoy themselves again!

For this series, my goal is to produce 15 emotional paintings of people doing their favorite activity in the mountains, hoping to preserve their movement as they enjoy a moment in nature.
